It was a sad and shocking day for the music industry when celebrity DJ, DJ AM, passed away on Friday. He was the ex-fiance of Nicole Richie, had also dated actress Mandy Moore and was 1 of 2 survivors in that fatal plane crash last year in South Carolina. DJ AM was found dead in his New York City apartment – with a crack pipe and preceription medication laying close to him. At 1st – many thought it was suicide. But it’s now being looked at as an accidental overdose. DJ AM was clean and sober for 11 years – until the plane crash , where he was prescribed anxiety medications that could have triggered his need to use drugs again. Either way – it’s very sad. RIP DJ AM.
Almost 6 months after using Rihanna as a punching bag – rapper Chris Brown is making the interview rounds. His interview with Larry King will air Wendesday night on CNN – and in a new interview with People Magazine…Chris reveals he is still “in love with Rihanna”, and promises to never hit a woman again. Whatever. I still hate don’t like you CB.
Miss California USA has filed a lawsuit and wants that crown back! Carrie Prejean was literally stripped of her crown after stripping and showing off her body in some pictures that the pageant deemed innapropriate. But Carrie claims she was fired after making comments about gay marriage. In the suit – she accuses pageant officials of religous discrimination, defamation, public disclosure of private facts and a list of other accusations.
If you’re a fan of MTV’s The Hills – another cast member is checking out. Audrina Patridge announced today that this is her last season of filming the MTV reality TV series. Lauren Conrad also checked out of the show. That’s all. HA!
Damn – why am I still tired after sleeping 11 hours last night?!? UGH – I’m sitting here forcing my eyes to stay open. And seriously – I would drive to Starbucks for a Venti Skinny Vanilla Latte WITH an extra shot of espresso…but I’m too tired for that too. WTH! This is annoying. Saturday – we spent the day at Busch Gardens. So much fun. We met up with McCoy’s cousins Laura & Susan. Susan & her husband Justin came with their 2 ADORABLE daughters…Emily & Jackie. Too cute! And they love roller coasters – at least, the ones they were tall enough to ride. I won’t say I looove roller coasters, I enjoy them. But I have to ride them with my eyes CLOSED. And Griffon – I refuse to ride that ever again. Soo scary! You remember this video right? Me on the Griffon…

This past weekend I had a change of plans that left me with 72 hours and only one previously planned event. So, I was talking with my friend who has been threatening to take me fishing “and I mean REAL MAN fishing”, as he said….deep into the woods to a place where “No lazy overweight fisherman would dare to go” he continued.
He was right…though the ride on Bike and commensurate walk (16 miles round-trip of HARD travel) was tough…it was a great place to fish and the catching was good.
I am the guy in the Cammo Hat…he is the “Good Ol Boy” who is chest deep bringing in a crappie.
I had a productive weekend which means I did a lot of stuff Jill wanted me to do. Hey if you’re a guy and you are married you know what I am talking about. Reading Gene Simmons from KISS’ new book. I love the background dirt when he talks about Paul , Ace and Peter. This video has been around but my daughter turned me onto it. Funny.

I scared myself today. I was looking at my calendar for the weekend and there is nothing going on for me this Saturday. No concert. No projects. No grass mowing. Our end of summer Bash was fun. I love the Ntelos Wireless Pavillion setting, right by the water and everything is close by like the bathrooms and the food. Big big thanks to Mozella, Eric Hutchinson,Green River Ordinance,and Chasing Corona. I still can’t figure out why the Bodeans wouldn’t do a meet n greet with our listeners. : ( And how cool was it that Chasing Corona donated the money they charged to perform to the kids at Childrens Hospital. May all good things come your way guys. This was our first annual bash so we are already working on next year. Please stand by.

Nothing like burning 2 vacation days to paint the kitchen and bathroom ceiling. Props to Behr paint for thier new paint with primer in it…you pay alittle more ($30 per gallon) but the results are worth it and this stuff covers great. Did I mention I hate painting?!…my brother and his family are coming in to town tonight so Jill has me getting the house ‘ready’…and all the guys said ‘oh boy.’…..back in the building today to rock the mic at 10 after Kidd Kraddick! I’m diggin’ these cooler temps! Shout out to Amanda and Scott at Anytime Fitness in Princess Anne Commons…what up?!

…Traking a vacation day this week and doing what you probably do on your day off…working on something around the house. Today, I am re-painting the kitchen ceiling. For some reason I used 2 different paints last time so today I am going to make it all better. It’s 8:31am. Breakfast, then a trip to hardward store for that paint with the primer already in it…yeah!
Today wrapped up a crazy weekend! Live broadcast from Busch Gardens! What a fun place…BTW Howl-o-scream is just around the corner…opens on the 25th! CANT WAIT!
So is it me or does everyone I know have this strange end of summer cold right now! Not as much fun on the rides at Busch Gardens when your head feels this way! :)

DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) was found dead in his apartment in New York City this afternoon around 5:20pm. The NYPD has confirmed there was drug paraphernalia found in the apartment. He had seemingly overcome his addiction to drugs and was even recently working on an MTV show to help young people get sober. It seems his traumatic plane crash back in September 2008 scarred him worse than anyone knew.
On August 25th, in what would now be his last public communication, DJ AM wrote on his Twitter, “New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems.” It was a line from a Grandmaster Flash song.
According to NBC New York, “DJ AM had not been heard from for a few days, and one of his friends went to check on him, but got no response after knocking on his apartment door, law-enforcement sources said. The friend then called the police, who broke into the apartment and found the DJ’s body.”
According to reports, AM had been battling with depression lately. “DJ AM thought the depression was a result of trying to stop taking pain medication since his tragic plane accident.”
DJ AM was last seen in public this past Sunday — when he threw the first pitch at a Mets game at Citi Field in NYC.

Chris’s mom appears in the interview crying, and just today she released a statement on Chris’s Fan Club page that mentioned “I’m not ashamed of Chris” and “this has been the most painful moment in my entire life”. on the flip side – Chris’s punching bag Rihanna sent POINT artist Taylor Swift roses. Taylor Tweeted about it on Twitter – she had a big concert at Madison Square Garden. Awww! Isn’t that sweet!
And finally – actor John Krasinski popped the question to Michael Buble’s ex-girlfriend…actress Emily Blunt. The 2 started dating in November. John is famous for his role on the NBC TV show “The Office”. Emily is also an actress – whom you might remember from the movie “The Devil Wears Prada”…she was Miranda’s 1st assistant. The skinny, bitchy red head. I love that movie!
As I type this – I’m listening to that song. “Good Life” by Kanye West. Don’t get me wrong – I love the music we play on the POINT. However – I have an addiction to pop/hiphop/rap/Top 40 music. Kanye, Keri Hilson, The Black Eyed Peas, JayZ, Rihanna, etc. I could go on & on. My IPOD is loaded with all this stuff – it’s great to run to. Pumps you up!
Happy Friday by the way…TGIF! I was supposed to be in Williamsburg tomorrow morning at 10am – which means up at 6am, leave the house by 8am and PRAY that there’s no traffic. BUT…I just found out I don’t have to go. WOO HOO! So tonight – were going out. A massive group of us. What started as me hanging out with 3 girlfriends and McCoy, has turned into a HUGE party of people. Coordinating cabs, where to meet, what to wear. HA! I love it when nights just come together like this. We plan on hitting up Watermans at the Oceanfront – ORANGE CRUSHES! And then heading down to Catch 31 at the Hilton. The rest of the weekend, I hope to just lay low. See a movie, go to the mall, read US Weekly and hope that it rains. I love the rain on a lazy weekend. But please – NO RAIN TONIGHT!

Actress Mischa Barton is finally opening up about her recent stint in the psych ward of an LA hospital…remember that? She called the cops to her house & off she went to a padded room. Well – Mischa blames stress, wisdom tooth surgery and contract negotioations on her breakdown. She says “I was down in the dumps about everything, I couldn’t handle it, but now I feel really in control”. So there you have it – blame it on the wisdom teeth.
Another famous celeb is opening up about his time in the hospital – hunky, manalicious, man candy George Clooney recently broke his hand when he…get this….SLAMMED HIS HAND IN THE CAR DOOR! OUCH! It was 1st reported that he broke it in a motorcylce accident in Italy. Not true. But what is true – I am now moving to Italy to be his nurse and give him sponge baths. AHHHH!! HA HA HA!
A day after being sentenced to 5 years probation and community service – Chris “Beat Her Down” Brown chatted it up with CNN’s Larry King. The interview will air on CNN (Channel 8 here locally) Wednesday September 2nd. During the interview, Chris’s mother spoke with Larry and cried during the interview. Chris then cried too – when Larry smacked him in the face with his suspenders. I kid, I kid.
Actress Anne Heche appeared on David Letterman last night – where she openly bashed her ex-husband. Calling him lazy & said all he does is walk to the mailbox and collect the support checks she mails him. So of course today – that ex-husband released a statement saying “I was disturbed to see Anne taking out her personal frustration on the father of her child on national television”. And umm…I gott agree with you body. While what she said was funny, doing it on national TV was definitely NOT cool.
